I think this needs to be rethunk, sorry, rethought. If it goes ahead in its current form i don't think it would be a success.

A scotland meet is important so i think this current plan needs scraping and to start again. I suggest a weekender somewhere CENTRAL! currently thinking the green welly stop area?

roll up friday, saturday a run to apple cross (300 mile round trip though) saturday night in the local, sunday bugger off home...

early september would probably see reasonable weather, and the end of tourist season...

personally i'm more inclined to do something like this than pitlochry...

Hi Folks

Would also be interested, I'm in Blairgowrie, so Pitlochry would be ideal for me but like the idea of a central get together and the Green Wellie is a popular stop. Applecross would be cool, long way on windy roads before you even get to Bealach Nan Ba which is a scary one in or on any powered preambulator :o

Happy to go with the flow, but what about a day meet up initially to see what we all think and if it all clicks, apologies if ya'll know each other but I'm a newbie here (having owned my 1300 since '99 that is a bit sad I know).

Cheers
Kev

I'm easy. Can be found almost anywhere on a good day. Usually about Nairn or Inverness though so a "wee" run is to my liking.
Not sure how often I can do the full weekend though. Can turn up for at least a few hours most of the time.
just let me know when and where.

Not so sure I could make a full weekender either. Family - work etc but you never know.

Pitlochry - meet - Run to Rannoch (or somewhere) back to Pitlochry - Home - Siiiimplees

There is a good camp site at Fiscally (just outside Pitlochry) for those so inclined??

This Sunday looks crap 12th Aug for me I think.

As it's only a monthly meet might be an idea to rotate the location so it's pretty fair for everyone.

could do Highlands one month, central next, tayside etc that way we also get to see a bit more of our country.

Just a suggestion, I'm full of em at the moment but most are shite. ;-)

Fazes you are not full of shite as you put it - just one letter away from it

In fact as a fairly recent convert you are full of enthusiasm for the XJR movement - something that is sadly lacking in the Scottish area at the mo'. Furthermore you have echoed my own thoughts and come up with a sensible suggestion in moving the monthly meet around the country to make it fair for everyone.

All that is needed is for someone to say - 'Right - I'll be responsible for the August meet' (or whatever month suits 'em) and take it from there. If people cannot attend or don't wish to attend - So What!

Given the parochial nature of Scots as a whole it's probably the best bet :D

cheers - givit ;-) :D

Highlands Monthly meet????

Post by fazeshifter » Sat Aug 04, 2012 7:03 am

Well I'm back to work but gone from a 3 day week to a 5 day one. Not sure how the shifts will work out but looks like a full weekend stint will be out for me. will end up doing 10 shifts in a row. Not to bad but 3 shifts a day means I'll be all over the place. Once I get things sussed out I'll see if I can organise something unless anyone else wants to.

My mate and I are heading up to Onich on Saturday - few beers and crash out at a local hotel and then some fun on Sunday, before heading home.
