Morning all

Thanks for letting me join. Joe here, I am 1961 vintage and getting back on the road after 25 years off. Last bike was a 1995 Zephr 750. I have set my heart on a XJR1300 and have a budget of 5000 quid. Any advice welcome, I believe carb versions are a bit better? Going to look at a black/yellow one next week hopefully.

Cheers
Joe

Welcome Joe. 5k should get you more than enough xjr mate. People seem to prefer the carb models but that shouldnt put you off looking at injected models. Had a zepher myself a while back , loved it.

Thanks, correct me if I am wrong, but don't fuel injected models have that huge ugly catalyser silencer. I prefer the twin stubbier silencers. Also my budget will need to cover new leathers and helmet
