I'm off to Belgium tomorrow, got one of these for the trip, i got a 2 man tent, self inflating mattress, sleeping bag, raincoat, clothes for 3 days and a few other bits and bobs into it, still a little bit of room in it, you can fit bungee straps through the loops on it for a bit of extra security, the zip opening is covered by a large velcro'd flap and its supposed to be waterproof, £9, a f*@kin bargain I reckon.

I bought one of these. Not tried it out yet but did my usual test of putting it on my head ( I know), lots of light showing through where it's stitched together, I'll still use it but may wrap everything in carrier bags to be on the safe side
